David Wertheimer to Speak on New Devices, New Opportunities at NAB Show 2008
Las Vegas, NV (March 31, 2008) Â– David Wertheimer, executive director of the Entertainment Technology Center @ USC, will speak on a panel Tuesday, April 15 at the NAB Show in Las Vegas titled Â“New Devices, New Opportunities.Â” Wertheimer will be among industry leaders discussing how people want their media and on what device. The panel discussion will follow a keynote by Dr. Kevin Kahn, senior fellow and director of IntelÂ’s communications technology lab, and will also include industry executives from Sling Media, TiVo, and World Now to address the new opportunities for content creators and distributors.
Wertheimer, an experienced speaker on digital content and consumer demand, will bring his experience with the next generation-consumer to the panel. Since joining the Entertainment Technology Center @ USC in 2007 as executive director, he has led group discussions between ETCÂ’s sponsors Â– the major entertainment studios and technology/CE giants aimed at gaining insight into what consumers really want — and exploring how companies can come together to achieve that goal. Before joining ETC@USC Wertheimer was the president of Paramount Digital Entertainment, and he has been immersed in producing content, developing new technologies, and managing organizations (ranging from start-ups to divisions within publicly traded companies) for over 15 years. Wertheimer has been hailed one of five entertainment executives to watch by USA Today and one of three individuals leading the next generation of convergence by the Hollywood Reporter.
