I guess this means I'm getting old...

Lensmith, Just google TK-76 and it will appear as: RCA TK-76 photos. Personally,
I think the only good part of the memory is knowing that I was much younger
and able to handle that kind of weight back then much easier than now..(Although
the Vericam I'm lugging lately is not real easy on the shoulder either.)
A picture I wish I had to post would be one of a girl (her name escapes me),who shot in the same market I
did back in the day with a TK-76. To top it off, she was really built small. Her
whole rig probably rivaled her body weight....but she sure had my respect.

Just thought I'd give you an update. 30 years and a couple weeks after I first shot with a TK76 and 3/4" tape, I shot, edited and aired my first P2 story today. The story was a no-brainer, but it did take me a while to edit and I did not have to feed it via microwave. That will probably happen tomorrow.

Edius is cool. I can't wait until I get really comfortable with it. Weeks? Months? This old dog is excited to really get up to speed on it.

I will be in a sort-of training mode next week as I get turned loose in a bureau with the P2 gear. While I'm there, my venerable Ford van will get the Edius/P2 conversion, and I'll be up and running (?) toward the end of the month...just in time for vacation.

Lots has been said about the P2 camera, but I have no issues with the weight or setup. I had our engineering department order me a Peter Lisand pistol grip setup today after shooting with a friend's camera using that setup. My shoulder felt a hundred times better after a hand-held shoot, and I just felt like I was able to control the camera better with it.

Talk about feeling old...the story I shot featured a bunch of high school kids and a bunch of adult actors and music composers. At one point, actor Jason Alexander introduced Malcom-Jamal Warner, a former star of "The Bill Cosby Show" to the high school audience. There was little applause...then we realized most of the audience probably didn't know who Bill Cosby was and weren't even alive when he had a hit show.

I use a spx-800 p2 rig. Best camera I've ever had (and I've shot on everything from an Ikegami HL-79E, HL-55, HL-43, HL-45, Sony BVW-200 and Panasonic AJ-dp700; the 700 was the worst).
