We are currently seeking a Multimedia specialist who under general direction, conceptualizes, develops, films, edits, produces and/or oversees animation, audio and video production, and/or content materials to support program needs; performs related duties as required. Ensures consistency, accuracy and compliance with established standards; organizes, maintains and/or oversees internal files of projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Conceptualizing and writing scripts, supervising production and post-production, and ensuring all meets brand standards. Serving as creative director and producer for internal projects and projects involving outside contractors.

VIDEO/ANIMATION/AUDIO PRODUCTION:

Videotaping and/or audio recording of assigned events and presentations; managing calendar of assigned events.

Operating non-linear video and audio editing equipment including edit controllers, video cameras, hard disk video reorders, digital video storage devices, and audio mixers.

Processing video and audio footage into final deliverables in varying formats and sizes. This includes editing and proofing for quality and content; editing special effects, composition and design of production; scripting and recording custom audio voiceovers of video projects; and delivering by assigned deadline.

Designing, animating and creating multimedia-based animation, video, sound and/or content for use on the Web, in presentations and for other marketing and communication needs.

Cataloging and organizing video archive. Maintaining DVD library of multimedia projects, including encoding and burning of past works.

Managing all internal office video needs and requests, including making copies of DVDs as needed; assisting with audio/video questions.

Establishing a design standard for all video productions. Designing and creating custom titles for multimedia projects, including both still and animated titles.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT:

Keeping video/audio equipment up to date by researching new technology and trends; contacting vendors to research products and resolve technical problems; making recommendations to department for software and equipment purchases.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Any combination of education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described. Advanced coursework in multimedia and film production is desirable.

Progressively responsible experience in the conceptualization of projects; experience in a non-linear video and audio editing/production and/or Web development environment.

Knowledge of layout and design principles; editing and post-production; graphic file and color formats; audio/visual equipment.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Acrobat Professional); video and audio editing software including Final Cut Studio (Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Motion, Compressor), iMovie, Audacity, GarageBand, Sorenson Squeeze, iTunes, QuickTime Pro.

Operate a variety of computer platforms and operating systems including Mac OS and Windows; operate peripheral equipment including printers, CD and DVD burners and duplicators, scanners, digital and 35 mm cameras, digital video cameras, audio recording equipment, and digital projectors.

Creatively translate abstract concepts into effective visual form in a variety of media; adapt graphics to fit needs of clients and target audience.

Utilize state-of-the-art production tools to design, edit and produce video, audio and graphic materials; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; compose and edit written materials.

Explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to staff and customers; research and learn new software and adapt to changes in technology; prioritize, organize and schedule work assignments and projects.

Work individually on multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the course of work.

All personnel in Harker’s Office of Communication must have the following skills:

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Work well under pressure in a deadline-sensitive, multitask environment. -Possess the time-management and organizational skills necessary to meet deadlines, manage own workflow, and maintain an orderly workspace.

This is a full-time non-exempt, year round position; competitive salary will be offered but is dependent upon experience. Benefits associated with this position will be discussed during the interview process.
