The Art & Ethics of a Surprise Interview
Whether you’re a fulltime, freelance affiliate or network shooter, how do you feel about ambush or as 60 Minutes calls them, "surprise" interviews?
At the link below, the producer in the 60 Minutes Overtime BTS video said they gave their target plenty of opportunities to sit down for a formal interview with makeup and nice clothes before they resorted to chasing him down on the street. As they noted, since the Mike Wallace era, these types of efforts to get an uncooperative or unsuspecting interviewee to talk have significantly been reduced.
