A couple of days ago Anton/Bauer had a call come in to our Customer Service Group. The person on the line had just purchased 6 new HyTron 140 batteries off of eBay and he had some charging questions. (He had also purchased a non-Anton/Bauer charger on eBay.)
After a couple of trouble shooting questions we found out that one of the HyTron 140’s he had was serial number ***07 and the others were very close or sequential.
When we looked up the battery SN# to find out how old it was, it was noticed that this battery was part of a shipment that was delivered and received at facility in Buffalo, NY in mid-November.
The person who has the batteries is located near Galveston, TX.
We informed the facility. They are following up.
The customer did not report the batteries missing/stolen. Anton/Bauer does this as part of SOP.
Service through the life of the product is a key component of Anton/Bauer.
