I'm currently editing with both AVID and CS6. CS6 is much more versatile, works with more codecs natively, and has shorter render times. However, Avid store has more shortcuts options when editing and is a bit faster to edit with. Overall, if I had to choose one over the other, I'd take CS6. It takes a little time to adapt from Avid and learn how to do everything but its still a better platform.
