First time user Avid Media compser 3.5 edit problems.

First time trying to use Avid and I am having this problem;

The mac laptop is seeing the video from the deck but would n't capture the video. The error says " EXCEPTION : VIDEO SIGNAL PRESENT BUT NOT CAPTURED "

How do I solve this problem ?
