Baltimore City Curfew - news gathering?

Hi everyone,

My correspondent and I are trying to determine what the police reaction will be if we are seen working on the streets after 10 pm tonight.

The only guidance I can find is that from the Mayor's website - they are allowing exceptions for 'medical emergencies' and 'those going to work'.

Does anyone have prior experience with this?

Thanks much,

Grant. (grant@gpi.tv)

Watching all this unfold from Arizona, I was wondering that myself. Did you try asking the PIO with Baltimore PD?

Geraldo was out there on the street at 10:30p doing live shots and the police just waived to him as they drove by. I think for legitimate media like networks and local stations, you're ok. Now, every blogger with a camera might find themselves beat up and locked up so I guess just use common sense.

Credentialed members of the MEDIA are exempt from the emergency curfew. Please use caution in the area of police enforcement.

I believe they even had a press conference at 11:45pm last night at HQ

There has been no issue for the media doing their jobs. Keep credentials handy.

Police are actually being very accommodating frankly. They understand they are on a stage.
