I got this e-mail a couple of days ago, did anybody else get it?

Hello,

I am athletes manager from San Francisco but currently in Northern
London grooming talents for clubs and future soccer challenges. We want
to market some of our players to Europe, some of which have already
been spotted by some soccer coaches as future stars. We will be
organizing a 5-aside football friendly match among these young
lads. Some of them are graduates of cocoaexpo soccer camp in Florida.
The friendly match will last for 1hour, 20mins on each half, 10mins
rest break after the first half before the second of 20mins commences
and 10mins of interview after the second half.We want most of the
video coverage to be taken during the match and very few in the 10mins
break. We will need the service of a videographer that would the
coverage in the course of the match. The event which will take place on
28th June,2014 by 11am at Pelham Bay Park,NY and it will be produced
on DVD that will be delivered to us after the event.

We would cater for all expenses incurred to make yourself available to
render the service. If you're interested , get back to me with your
estimate cost for the service together with all expenses that could be
incurred ASAP.

Kindest Regards,

I'm a bit suspect as others have pointed out there are some questions with the initial e-mail having taken 3 reads to get straight in my head.

The thing that really leapt out me other than that is that this looks to be a job in the Bronx and we are from Texas. While it would be one thing for an existing client to want to fly you up this guy seems new which begs the question why not hire local.

Second It seems an odd choice of location My mothers family is from about 3 blocks away and It is not a location I would personally choose to showcase up and coming prospects. But then again maybe they couldn't choose the location. That said If you book it and get the money up front Im up for a trip to NY and a Pizza on Arthur Ave after the shoot.

Yep, money up front with no exceptions for any unknown or unestablished client relationships. Even if you didn't give them the media when it's over until you got paid, you can still get screwed out of your time and therefore the possible loss of another paying client for that day or more. Then if you don't ever get paid, do you want to pay a lawyer to recover what will more than likely amount to a wash anyway?

I just got this one...he lost me at "retired truck driver..."

Hello,

I am Brian Donovan, a retired truck driver. My colleagues and i will
be having a feast at San Francisco by 5pm on 14th June,2014. We are 31
in number and the feast will last for 2hours from 5pm. We are still
dealing with the reservation of the hall but we are assured of
one(own by one of us relative) which its location will be communicated
to you as soon as possible. We will need the service of a videographer
at this feast, i got your contact from
http://www.broadcastvideo.com/freelance.html.

So, i would want you to get back to me if you will be available for
the service and also your price quote. The production should be in
DVD, NTSC format, the camera brand does not matter and to be delivered
to us after the event.Get back to me with your estimate cost for the
service together with all expenses that could be acquired in the
course of the service.

Waiting to hear from you.

A feast. LOL. Yeah...these are most likely all scams.

I've strung a couple of these along for a while after it became apparent they were not legit. Inevitably, a rubber cashier's check is offered, but there is always some unfortunate circumstance where it's for more than your fee, so you need to wire the excess to the production manager or some other person who is in transit/otherwise unavailable. What they are phishing for is to get you to send money out of your account before you find out the check has bounced.

Yeah, the feast comment sounds like some tribal ceremony. Hahaha. Both sound as if they area trying real hard to use big words to impress the recipients. As for the advance money tactic mentioned by Slo-Mo, that's tell-tale signs of the classic Nigerian transaction scam. The scary part is they keep trying because there are those that continue to fall for it.

If I had a dollar for every, nigerian-Lotto/prince/check thing or dear sir e-mail, and lets not forget all of the GI's needing help with Sadoms gold.

Just saying I would be long since retired.
