The state isn't talking about these lawsuits publicly. But since Allen filed his suit, a nonprofit set up to raise funds for the state's QAR project, Friends of the Queen Anne's Revenge, which is also named in the lawsuits, filed for dissolution in March. This story is so big and so little talked about. Intellectual property is the gold of the digital age.

I lived in Beaufort until 1996. The Queen Anne's Revenge was all the chatter at The Backstreet Pub and Beaufort Grocery.

I lean heavily in favor of anyone battling the currents and the silt. I wouldn't make the jury pool.
