Equipment insurance question

I have a question,

Do you insure ALL of your gear? I wanted to lower my premium a bit, and only list the items that are more than my deductible, and NOT include the small ticket items, such as XLR cables, cases, etc., which I could theoretically replace out of pocket.

Thanks!

Think about what you could do if you lost all of your equipment in one incident. Then you would be glad you insured it all. That's my thought.

Do you have any equipment that is only used in a single location. If so it should be covered under your regular commercial policy, and you would not need an inland marine policy. Anything that regularly goes out of the office should be covered with the inland marine

Jacques: I do a "misc cables and accessories" listing on my insurance, just in case of the "all goes up in flames" disaster scenario. Compared to the cost of some of the rest of the gear, doesn't really add that much to the total cost.
