DSR 500 Time lapse

Is it possible to set a Sony DSR 500 to shoot a time lapse. This isn't something I have ever dabbled with before. My goal is to do a time lapse of 24hrs, and break it down to about out 1 minute and Thirty Seconds.
Any suggestions as to how I can achieve this would be great!

Don't think it's possible... we use the DSR 570WS' and I've never heard of a way to time lapse unfortunately....
