My only question is why put a DSLR on it if the purpose is for video?

EX1 would be able to do broadcast quality hands down. Or a AVCHD camera + Nanoflash would probably be the same weight as a 7D. Shallow DOF doesn't make sense b/c you'd need wireless follow focus & video monitoring.

The only legit reason I see is that it is better in low light than any camera designed for video.

The next reason I see is that the video gets more attention b/c it has a DSLR on it. But I'd think that this video would get 10x more hits if he put a iPhone 3Gs on in it instead.

Still a cool video. Thanks for sharing Nino. (Even if my knee jerk reaction is to question the whole DSLR as video camera craze.)

The EX1 is a much heavier camera than any DSLR. I'm not sure I would trust either my 5DMII or my EX1 on that contraption, but, I'm already thinking about doing something similar with a GoPro HD
