Is anyone using a time lapse motor for sliding time lapse shots?? I've been looking at the Syrp Genie, but would like to hear some opinions on other motors.

I use the emotomo. It is excellent. Fast to set up, and very easy interface.

I have used many other ones out there, in my opinion, this is the easiest to work with quickly.

I spent a lot of time with the kessler doing sliding time-lapse, and I don't like the product. It is fragile and things come loose on it. Also, I realised that I prefer an pan/ tilt time-lapse to a tracking one.

I heard about Kessler motion control solutions years ago and haven't used any of their stuff but their demo videos are interesting. However, as you described, seeing it and using it can be two different experiences as far as durability and functionality. As for pan/tilt tracking, I noticed a video on their site demonstrating a pan / tilt feature called Parallax. Not sure if yours is electronically or mechanically corrected like the Parallax though. Either way, one can glitch & the other can break so we can't win. The demo video link is below.
