I see a huge amount of semantics and hair splitting in this thread. I'll be buying a new HD camera soon. It'll probably be the Panasonic HPX 500 and I'll be looking for a nice, used SD lens for it because I'm not prepared to go into deep debt to get a very expensive HD lens. The clients I usually serve wouldn't have a clue about what lens I'm using as long as they're getting their HD content, and in my opinion, most of the viewing public would never notice the difference between SD and HD if they were asked to judge side by side images.
