I am looking at getting a scan converter to bring a powerpoint presentation into a software based switcher on my laptop. Because I am going into a software switcher I don't think I need (or even have a way to connect) genlock.
But a ton of scan converters are out there in a wide range of prices. I'm looking for advice on which are good quality converters.
I've pretty much discounted the super cheap ($400 and under) and I don't (think I) need the super expensive ($2000 and up). But I can't tell if $600 converter without genlock is fine or if a $1500 converter with genlock and a few other feature is overkill.
Any recommendations for a good quality line of scan converters? Any thoughts?
