What's that like?
If your tease gets killed, can it be ressurrected?
Do you aim the microwave dish straight up?
Is the lighting always perfect?

You don't have to wait for the reporters to put make up on prior to their stand-up because they're already too beautiful.

Live shots are easy cause the whole world is a set with perfect soft light at every angle.

Consultants come in and tell everyone that everything is perfect and then hang around just to appreciate the absolute perfection of the newsroom in action.

You get a raise everyday.

I'm guessing you don't need a helicopter. Everyone has wings except the AE's.

White balance is always perfect.

You never run out of tape and the machines never eat tapes.

The file servers never crash.

The desk always allows enough time to get to the story.

You never have a problem setting up a microwave signal.

No cables, everything is wireless and there is never any interference issues.

The radios and cell phones always work.

You never have to work weekends or holidays.

cameras and equipment would always work when and how it's supposed to....

but, we'd be short on all kinds of spot news..

shootings, stand offs, arsons, drunk driver accidents, murders, etc.

afterall, stupid people keep us employed.

So, would we have take COMMUNION in our trucks while driving to the next story and still get to put 'no lunch' on the timesheet?

There are a few rules though:

Thou shalt not break axis.
Thou shalt not jump cut.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's reel as it were their own.
Thou shalt not take thy Assignment Editor's name in vain.

There are no "yellow pages" or "white pages", just Old and New Testaments.

Communion is NOT to be taken in the truck (the wine thing).

The newscasts don't end with a copyright, just "Amen".

There's always a cloud or robe to white balance on.

Halos provide the best hair light.

Sorry, helicopters aren't necessary, and there are no sick days.

Elvis is not available for comment.

The ND won't return Osama's calls.

Wait a minute. What about the ethical dilemma?

I mean, considering how often we cover "acts of God" in this business, wouldn't those events present a conflict of interest? Wouldn't your work basically become propaganda? Wouldn't every story present this problem, since it's all supposed to go back to the same source?

 :D

And how is this different from the current situation ??

Reporters do their stand-ups in ONE TAKE!

International headlines would read something like: "Residents of hellprotest governing body by wailing and gnashing of teeth."
