This quote is another good example of the "facts" you people come up with to defend your position. I've been on this board numerous times and I have never once seen KRON management post let alone say that they would have "incontrovertible proof within six months" that what they did was a success and that everyone would adopt it.

Show me any quote from anywhere that KRON management made such statements...No one ever made such a statement. Certainly no one at KRON. So, show me the quote, article, or link. Show me.

So much wasted time splitting hairs over "3 or 5 years" while continuing to avoid admitting Verdant Fox has always supplied narrow slices of claimed rating numbers instead of a complete picture. Then demanding quotes specifically from only a KRON manager, along with the reality the archive system here at B-Roll Online not going back beyond 2003. A valid explanation for anyone not being able to supply Verdant Fox with his desired quotes from KRON paid VJ promoters. Someone, a consultant, paid by the very company, KRON/Young Broadcasting, you want a quote from. Saying those very things you deny being said by anyone "at KRON". Splitting hairs because a KRON paid consultant made the claims and not a KRON executive. Oh well...I'm sure the obvious is obvious to everyone who wades through this thread.

There will always be "managers" who will deny reality until the end.

The fact is we have several VJ's right here at B-Roll Online who don't seem to worry about being hounded off this board. In fact they aren't hounded at all! Newsman comes to mind who is headed off to Afghanistan for a third trip soon.

Lenslinger is another. More well known than most of our regular B-Roll Online posters. A talented guy who works alone all the time. I don't think he gets hounded at all.

Hounding did not happen to those other VJ posters. Failure did. They either went back to more traditional news coverage at the behest of their employer as in the case of WKRN or the revolving door at KRON kept anyone from truly claiming a long term VJ career with a future.

Instead, KRON languishes at the bottom of the financial hill barely alive. Not even a chance of claiming to be competitive with other stations in their same market as a business model.

Even Michael Rosenblum has come to the realization that his early VJ newsroom will not be embraced by those who run the company here in the US. There is a reason there are so many of us who have long years in this business. It's because we know how it works. During good times and bad. this is not the first economic crunch we have lived through which affected newsroom budgets. It won't be the last. Some survive. Others, who don't know what they are doing, do not.

I find it interesting that the GM and news director who instigated the VJ newsroom at WKRN, a place some claim as a VJ success story, both find themselves shown the door by the very owners of the station they "saved". It's a tough world and no amount of spin explains why those who claim success, are unable to point to any of it when asked to. Whether it's ratings or a financial balance sheet showing a more vibrant successful business model compared to others doing the same thing in their same market of competition.

This board is largely made up people with exactly the same world view and who are cheer leading for the failure of VJ. It takes stamina to hold off the torrents of abuse one receives for disagreeing with the fold. I frankly enjoy it.

Do you want to know why those you listed are the "Golden Children" of this board? Because they have established credibility and respect by having intelligent civil exchanges over the years. They do not come here to discuss one subject only as you do and they don't get insulting and demeaning to someone unless they deserve it. The torrents of abuse, from where I'm sitting, blow most heavily from you.

That's one heck of a list you compiled of people who are wrong. At some point you might want to consider why you are so alone instead of celebrating your independance.

What's your bottom line, anyhow? You expend so much energy here it's almost like this is your occupation, or at least is vitally linked to it. Why do you care so desperately what we think?
