The deadline for entering the 2012 NPPA Best of Photojournalism contest is approaching fast.

This year entries are uploaded. No discs to burn, no postage to pay, no entry fee, no membership required.

So what do you have to lose by entering?

It is sad the b-roll Awards aren't happening this year but there is an outlet for those who are wanting to see how our stuff stacks up compared to our brothers and sisters around the country.

Just a quick question for you Mike. What was the reason for not charging this year.
I am entering this year (Was a member for years ,but stopped paying)... There are other guys I know that the only reason they pay is to enter the BOP..

Motog, this has been a free contest for several years, maybe 5 or 6? We didn't want anyone to be excluded because of an entry fee.

Not sure what you mean by capacity. 640x480 or 640x352 if you're 16x9. 1024 kbs max bit rate. It's a file upload, takes seconds.

I haven't entered since 2008, when I won first place for deadline photography, but decided to jump
Back in this year and submitted five stories. Online process was easy.
