New to Editing questions (Vegas & EX-1)

Hi, I bought a Sony EX-1R a couple of months ago. I already had Sony Vegas. I am just now starting to use the two together. I'd like to hear advice on the best way to get the video from the camera and into Vegas.

I have been playing with doing it this way. I bring up XDCAM Clip Browser, I use the Explore window to navigate to the camera (drive E) I go to the clips and I import them. I then export as MXF for XDCAM DVCAM. Then I go to Vegas Pro 8 and I Import media and select all the files I Exported from Clip Browser.

So, is this the best way?

I also see some people say the use "output". Is that something I should be doing?

And one more thing. I would like to be exporting as MXF for XDCAM HD. But the program puts the watermark on the video. I just bought and downloaded CONVERSION PACK 1. I entered the key. But do I have to somehow install that into the XDCAM Browser software? I still get message that I am using trial version.

And last, when I export for mxf nle Vegas can not import those clips?

As you can tell I have very little idea what I am doing,

Thanks for letting me clutter up the forum.

If you're getting a watermark you need to contact Sony.

I'd get that issue cleared up before I'd go on with the other stuff.
