The new RemoteAmp Blue from JK Audio is a pretty cool little gadget.
It basically connects to a cell phone using Bluetooth and acts as a wireless IFB receiver.
We used it on election night at a location where we were doing liveshots using a StreamBox laptop and no live truck. The reporter had great mobility and it's as easy to set up as a bluetooth headset.
The unit gives you a high quality amplified audio connection to a cell phone. Anyone who has ever connected directly to a cell phone for IFB knows the audio level is never very high, which is a problem in loud locations, and the adapters that connect to the cell phone are usually prone to shorts or opens.
It also acts as an IFB amplifier if you're using hard wire IFB. And with two separate volume controls you can use both cell phone and hard wire at the same time.
We bought ours from Markertek for $349.
