Importing Dashcam video into adobe premiere

One of our local police departments hands out dashcam video frequently. It's on dvd MPEG-PS. I can't get it into Adobe and my colleagues have similar issues with Avid and Final Cut. We've been shooting off of a monitor screen, but that doesn't look good. Any suggestions in converting it? It plays fine in quicktime and VLC.

You can use MPEG Streamclip. It's free too.

Otherwise, FlipFactory does a very good job with automating the process to convert anything you throw at it into your native format so no additional rendering is required.

If you use MPEG Streamclip, you need the Mpeg support in QuickTime. It's $20bucks to see DVD's.

For programs that have a proprietary software you may want to see if you can get your hands on a scan converter such as one from Matrox.
