Freelance Pay?

I'm checking if anyone can help with a question about freelance pay. I have an idea what to ask for but would like some input on the matter. I would have to drive about 200 miles, stay over a night or two, and work two 8-10 hour days. This is in a mid-size market so what would be a good freelance fee?

Thanks

The "normal" freelance rates for your situation (labor only) would be around $350-400 per day (plus overtime @ 1.5X for anything beyond 10 hours).

Travel time would either be "on the clock"...or 50% of the day rate for an advance "travel day". The nets pay "on the clock" for travel.

Mileage is normally 36 cents/mile. The client should also pick up the all hotel expenses, plus provide a reasonable per diem allowance ($ 35-45).

In DC rates are about 375/8hr. day, OT after eight. Out of town clients want 10 or 12 hour days. Rates go up accordingly. Flat fees run to 600 bucks.
