Hi guys,
Im currently the BBC Shoot/Edit for Africa and have a problem. . . Im an Avid Editor and all the BBC FTP systems and broadband lives are with PC based software. My Bureau chief though is insistant that we install our main suite in the office as a mac with FCP running because there are not many freelancers here who use Avid (allegedy). Now although I would like to learn FCP Im very happy with Avid and the way it all integrates with the rest of the BBC system. My questions are is it realistic to install a mac based edit suite but to run parallels and be able to switch between operating systems or would it be more practical to have a dedicated editing workspace with all the gizmos that different laptops can just be plugged into by different users? My plan would be to archive everything as DV 25 AVI's that both systems can use. Any advice from someone who has experienced a similar problem would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Chris.
