electrical storm

Havin' a lot of supercell activity tonight. I was shooting lighting when my fully charged battery died. I threw in my charged spare and it was DOA.
This is the first time I've seen this. Any simular experiences?

My gut feeling is the dead batteries were not related to the storm...

Ive had well maintained and 'young' batteries die for no reason, and they could not be revived. Then Ive had batteries last years.

Likewise with the chargers.. a good battery with a 'smokin' charger... only two years old.

Kind fo cool to see the video this mornin'. I posted it on my facebook page if you wanna check it out. My camera batteries came back to life fine but I had to replace my phone battery. Gotta go see the dentist cuz all the places I have metal in my mouth hurt now. The video shows what looks and sounds like a transformer or something blowing up across the street from me. There is no transformer over there though.
faaaaaar out. I can certainly see the addiction in storm chasing.
