Its funny you posted that because I thought about contacting them to do strictly as a "pro-bono" gig so as to develop my graphics skills...then I realized the banality of the concept.

Here, you can be a VJ and work for FREE! Though you do get meals (as long as it's not more than $20...for the entire day!) and they'll be "so nice" as to re-imburse you for tapes (probably at half of what you paid).

New Jersey web based political news gathering company seeking video journalists to interview people on the street about current political views. Video journalist will be provided with a list of interview questions, and legal release forms, each response to the question will be around 1-2 minutes long. The person being interviewed will choose 3 questions of interest to discuss. For each 1-2 minute post-able segment the video journalist will be paid 17 dollars per clip. Limit to 50 clips per week. There will be compensation for meals during shooting and tapes. At the end of each week video the journalist will Fed-Ex each tape with our corporate account to Nj for editing. We are looking for a freelance video person with professional video camera to film footage of travel related scenes in San Diego California. We would like travel footage of San Diego attractions, tours, nightlife, hotels, museums, transport, restaurants, shopping, land marks, people, street and traffic scenes, signpost etc. There will be four full days of filming/shooting and we need 8 full hours of travel footage for San Diego. Total Payment will be US$800 for the four days and US$200 for all of your expenses (admissions, tapes, travel etc) and payment will be through PayPal. This one is unbelievable!

We would like nice travel footage of Denver attractions, tours, nightlife, restaurants, museums, transport, hotels, shopping, landmarks and famous places, people, street and traffic scenes etc etc.

$800/4 days? WTF? That's barely one day's rate for most. And, yeah, $200 will get you into a lot of attractions. That'll probably cover gas for the 4 days if they want you traveling all over town and the foothills to get all the shots...
 
I dunno; the shot list is vague enough that you could shoot 7 hours and 45 minutes of people from your window and then demand payment. :)

We are a successful event and entertainment company that specializes in action sports and manages a number of action sports athletes from the X-Games, Dew Tour, etc.

As you may know, the first stop on the very popular, nationally televised (NBC) Dew Tour is this week/weekend in Baltimore. We have a couple athletes competing and would like to get some footage of them practing, competing, doing their "routines" and capturing the Dew Tour scene. We will pay expenses, but looking for someone that is willing to donate their time in exchange for a pass to the Dew Tour, credits and future opportunities with the company.

Ah the old "it's a vacation cruise you'll have so much fun!" All the fun that is, you can squeeze in after shooting 12-15 hours a day everyday.
