Field Technician/Photographer - News 8, Austin, Texas

Job Description: Operates ENG and DSNG trucks for live news events, press conferences and breaking news and shoots video as assigned, including anchor packages. Operates portable video equipment, LIVE trucks, audio and electronic equipment in coordination with producing staff. Operates microwave and satellite transmission equipment. Conducts interviews for sound when needed. Gathers information and video for on-scenes, packages, VOs and VOSOTs.
Required Skills: Degree in journalism or related area preferred. Position requires a minimum of two years of news or related experience. Exceptional people skills needed, strong writing and teaching ability a must. Working knowledge of newsroom computer systems, production and field equipment is essential.
