Any free video editor to do this...?

Hi, I need to edit a video so that I can cut or mask the right half of it, or a specified area of it.

Is there any free video editor that I can use to do that? Any suggestion please?

Try looking to see if there is a "crop" command or tool in Windows Movie Maker (bundled with Windows computers for free) or in iMovie (bundled with Macs). Other than that, I'm not sure. I can't think of any other free video editing programs out there. Try checking out places like www.download.com and see if there is anything that can help.

Solid advice from Chugach3DGuy. I would only add that there are often downloadable 30 day trials of some other NLE software. Sony Vegas comes to mind.
