DSLRs are have good video & audio out, like a Varicam has a good wireless flash control & bulb shutter setting.

I think they all have some sort of monitoring, but no live HD video out. You can at least get a good composite SD live signal out & I think they all have HDMI (or mini-HDMI). I don't think any of them have a headphone jack, but I could be wrong about that.

Pretty much if you want to use a DSLR as a professional camera, you have to use it like a film camera. Record your audio separately & use a clap board to sync things in post.

If you can, wait a couple years & Panasonic, Sony, Canon or Red will release something that will make shooting with a 5D MII (or any other still camera w/ a video hack) obsolete.

DVXUser should have a lot more people playing around with DSLRs & believing that they're better than a Varicam, so you might get some better info there or somewhere else on google.
