    "Little Camera" wireless mounts

Anyone using the Panny AG-HPX170 w/ a wireless mic? How are you mounting the mic to the camera? All I can come up with is gaffers tape or something like this: https://www.campbellcameras.com/images/Product/medium/386.jpg It's almost as big as the camera. Anyone have any other suggestions?

    Field HD Editing

Anyone editing HD in the field? What are you using? I know unless you've upgraded your live trucks you're not sending HD video back, but I'm just referring to the editing.

    small HMIs

I'm going to have two talent outdoors but under cover in May. I'm looking for some small HMI's (something I can clamp to the cover support instead of using stands) to balance out the lighting. Anyone have some suggestions? Thanks Sam

    Setting P2 Clip Name

OK, it looks like you can set a P2 camera to identify clips by a "user name" and then an incrementing number (ie: CAMP001, CAMP002, CAMP003) instead of a "random" number. There are references in the manual on how to READ the "user-set clip name" but no instructions on how to SET the name...

    VelocityNX

Is anyone else using a VelocityNX system? I've got two issues right now... 1) SOME clips (whether brought in from P2 cards or baseband ingest) have a "strobing" look (almost like a 24 frame rate instead of 30). Different clips shot at the same time don't all have the strobing, nor does every...

    Wireless Mic Help

We got an Azden wireless microphone system with our new Panasonic P2 50's. The system includes: 100URX/SI receiver (card slot on camera), 1000XTII transmitter (cube w/xlr input), and 1000BTII transmitter (lav mic body pack). The cube transmitter sounds fine. The body pack however has a...

    Travel w/Gerber/leatherman, etc

If you have to fly somewhere, how do you travel with your Gerber/Leatherman? I see three possibilities... 1) FedEx it ahead of you. This would mean not having it the day before or after. 2) Check it with luggage. But if you're not travelling with checked luggage, that seems a big hassle. 3)...

    I heard...

that a station in Michigan got a new live truck, but after 6 months of problems, the builder stopped returning their calls, and they went somewhere else. Anyone know what station this is?

    New Trucks & Generators

Anyone have a generator installed in their live truck with *NO* outside access other than a vent (you get to the oil fill, main breakers, etc from INSIDE the truck)? If so, who built it (genny & truck), and do you have problems with the generator overheating? This probably only pertains to...

Anyone know a station originating news in 16:9? We're debating it, and we want to talk to someone who's alredy doing it. Thanks

BAD points about P2 & XD

Like many other stations, we're looking at which way to go. I've read all the posts on here I can find. We're working on getting sales people in with demos from both Sony & Panasonic. I want to know what is NEGATIVE about the systems so I can question the sales guys. (They won't volunteer...

    DVCPro Audio Dropout

Has anyone had issues with one channel of audio dropping out on an edited DVCPro tape? We're on DVCPro25 with ADJ455s in the news edit bays and ADJ850s for news playback. Frequently, on playback, one channel of audio will disappear, but only when the tape is played in the 850s. Problem seems...

    Knocking Down Sunlight

I'm going to have an issue in May (nothing like planning ahead, huh?), where talent will be under an awning and the background will be in full sun. Wondering what people use to knock sunlight down in these instances (obviously, the talent will be lit with daylight bulbs). I talked to one...
