Cambodia fights pneumonia
Cambodia has applied to the GAVI Alliance, a public-private organisation, for funding to expand its immunisation program to include a new vaccine against haemophilus influenzae type-b, or Hib, a bacteria that causes pneumonia. Doctors say the vaccine could prevent 1,200 child deaths each year in Cambodia.

Cambodia's 1st noodle factory
This was a complementary video that ran on the web alongside a newspaper story about Cambodia's first instant noodle factory. The company was experiencing unanticipated demand, possibly due to a border dispute with Thailand, a major exporter to Cambodia of noodle packs. The company's Linh Thorn says demand is exceeding initial production runs of 40,000 boxes a month -- about 2 million packages of noodles. In a couple of months, he says, they hope to take some market share from the Thai and Vietnamese noodles that dominate the market.

Elephant Shoe
Feature story on an amputee baby elephant getting fit for a prosthetic foot. Chhouk was rescued by the Cambodian government and the animal group WIldlife Alliance after the he stepped into a snare. With help from a local but internationally renowned prosthetics school, Chhouk received a plastic "shoe" that helps him recover the 13 centimeters he lost. But weighing in at a ton, he's worn out his first one, and the school came back to remeasure the growing boy. Shot for AFPTV.
