CBS Crew “turned away” From Oil Spill by “BP Rules”

According to a CBS report last night, crews are being “turned away” from certain Louisiana oil spill locations by boats containing US Coast Guard officers.

So does BP make the rules on how the media covers their spill?

When CBS tried to film a beach with heavy oil on the shore in South Pass, Louisiana, a boat of BP contractors, and two Coast Guard officers, told them to turn around, or be arrested.

“This is BP’s rules, it’s not ours,” someone aboard the boat said. Coast Guard officials told CBS that they’re looking into it.

I guess if BP owns that particular part of the shoreline then yeah, they could be asked to leave, however, if not then I say, “Shoot, baby, shoot.”

yeah, depending on the few circumstances, did I already have enough video to accomphish my goal, was the location considered a public beach etc… They may have needed to arrest me.
