Apple Shows Us How to Edit for News

13. Aug, 2008 1 Comment

Joe Torelli, the man who literally Torelli, who edited for NBC network news and was a pioneer of Avid editing, helps you grasp Final Cut Pro from the ground up. This is perfect for the editor that presently cuts on Avid or another non-linear, and has never seen Final Cut Pro.

But don’t worry, the expert FCP editor will also pick up a few speed tips as well.

As Torelli puts it in the video, this is not an all-purpose video on FCP, but rather a quick tutorial on how to edit for news – and edit FAST.

You have to register on the Apple site before you can view the clip, but it’s free. (Tell them b-roll.net sent you!)

This video tutorial is probably the easiest and most efficient way to get a quick rundown on how to edit professionally. Hopefully more products follow this route and offer their tutorial online or on dvd.
