WORK EXPERIENCE:

April 2004 to August 2004; Vicenza, Italy
Senior Producer, - E-6 US Army, American Forces Network
-Shot, wrote, edited and produced a 30-minute documentary on the 173rd Airborne Brigade's deployment to Iraq. Documentary was aired worldwide.
-Developed 8-month training calendar for all deploying soldiers to the Middle East within the unit.
-Created equipment lists, personnel rotation plans, required skills list, and developed an After Action Review for over 500 soldiers and civilians within the career field.

June 2003 to April 2004; Kirkuk, Iraq
Public Relations Specialist/Broadcast Manager, E-6 US Army, 173rd Airborne Brigade
-Shot, edited and produced over 30 news stories used on American Forces Network and Fox News.
-Shot, edited and produced commercials for the Army/Navy football game used on the major network carrying the game.
-Produced a 5-minute video distributed to Middle Eastern and American investors, bringing in revenue to help rebuild the Northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk.
-Designed and implemented 5-year businesses plan for the Iraqi Media Network (IMN), the CPA-funded media source in Iraq. Bought, installed and maintained equipment for the first independent radio and TV station in Iraq. Wrote a training calendar and conducted seminars for engineers, radio announcers, producers, news anchors and television editors to bring the station to a 24-hour broadcast day within one year.
-Developed a daily talk radio program bringing local leaders and their American counterparts in to answer questions from the community about vital services.
-Developed job skills workshops, and health education programs for women in Iraq, used as the model program for all future sites in the country.
-Conducted human rights seminars and coordinated with local dignitaries procuring potential site locations, working with local contractors to repair facilities using limited resources and funds.
-Media liaison for military units in the area and international and local journalists. Responsible for daily press releases, fact checking and coordination of embedded journalists with military organizations.
-Responsible for counseling, development and well being of soldiers in a combat zone with zero casualties.

February 2001 to June 2003; Vicenza Italy
Broadcast Manager, E-6 US Army, American Forces Network
-Anchored, shot, edited and produced 5-minute nightly newscast to an American audience of over 6,000 and an Italian shadow audience of 20,000.
-Edited over 300 news stories for the nightly newscast and a regional travel magazine tv program.
-Incorporated Community Recreation Division (CRD) facilities and programs into pre-deployment training for a 3,000 man combat team.
-Provided training for Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) emergency essential personnel on proper equipment wear and maintenance, biological and chemical attack procedures, and expectations in a combat zone while providing for troop needs in a combat situation.
-Distributed 5,000 customer community surveys on radio services with a 90% response rate resulting in changes made to the radio station increasing the listening audience and resulting in increased promotions of command information.
-Developed a training calendar for AFN South on essential military tasks, and oversaw training of multi-service command on pre-deployment procedures for over 300 military personnel.
-Responsible for 2 24-hour radio frequencies, 3 daily live radio programs, production of daily news and radio announcements.
-Coordinated and hosted over 60 live radio remotes.
-Responsible for the counseling and development of soldiers.
-Created a checklist of over 100,000 CD's in the AFN inventory with zero loss or damage in a 3-year period.
-Accountable for almost $1 million dollars in equipment and sensitive items with zero loss or damage.

May 1999 to February 2001; El Paso, Texas

-Responsible for tours of Fort Bliss and it's training areas resulting in better community relations with local community leaders.
-Saved the installation over $100,000 on advertising costs for the 2000 Armed Forces Day.

-Hosted a live 3-hour daily radio program heard in the Heidelberg/Mannheim/Stuttgart Germany area.
-Produced and edited daily TV newscast and radio and television commercials.
