BIG Back To The Future fan and I drive a DeLorean. I'm sure the 'McFly' name will have to go at some point since it won't be long I'll be referred to as 'Doc' rather than 'McFly.'

Nice idea for a thread...As for my handle...It was NOT some narcissistic attempt at self-recognition. I worked for WBFF in Baltimore. The call letters stand for We're Baltimore's Finest Features - they used to show popular movies on TV back in the day before taking on News and a FOX affiliation. So, I just threw Fotog on the end in place of Features.

I was lucky enough to see Queen live in New Zealand. One hell of a concert.

Mine's not too deep... my name is David and I'm from Texas.
Some of you may remember me as Rugby Shooter, since I was active in rugby.
Now that I've had my should re-done and my knee scoped, not much rugby for me anymore.

Nothing thrilling here either...when I registered on the site, I was working in the DC bureau of an Alaskan TV station.

That is quite touching to honor your friend like that....its cool to know the story behind the "name" when it means that much to you.

I have twice shot and lit interviews with adult film starlet Shyla Stylez and found her to be a delightful person and quite easy on the eyes. I have also seen her work. I have always found porn names hilarious...the dudes are the best, but they always have some vague reference to that certain part of the male anatomy. Anyway with Shyla's image on my mind, I used her's as my screen name. What a hottie!!

Mine is just the screen name I use on the auto racing boards so I just keep using it. I race in stock class "A" so....... Freddie already guessed my avatar - the logo for The Mighty Boosh. An outrageous British comedy troupe.

Nojobtog...doesn't really require a whole lot of explaining. I had forgotten my password and made another screen name. At the time I had left the whole TV thing behind to go back college. So I decided to go with NoJobTog, rather than UnemployedPhotojournalist. Since I've been back to shooting I've thought about changing it again, but the only thing I could think of is CrapShooter :0)

My wife bought me a Hawaiian golf shirt while we were there on vacation. So the first the first time I wear it on the course, all my golfing buddies had a good laugh. They gave me the nickname Duffy after PGA golf pro Duffy Waldorf. I am forever known as Duffy at the Hy-land Hills Golf Course.

screename
My screen name was thrown at me once when I was freelancing on trucks. It stuck. As for Lensmith I've always thought what a cool name. Now knowing the back story I like it more. I remember a young Lensmith letting his Newfoundland frolic in the northern snows before work in a former life. Then again trudging through oceans of mud during biblical crises on my behalf... in another former life. His screen name belies a level of class and aplomb at his profession that many more in our industry should aspire to.
But now his handle makes me feel shallow..like I sold (or rather pimped) myself out. RATS..
Happy New Year,
Omar

I guess I chose this one on several levels. Always preferred the shooting style, and mentally
I've tried to keep an open mind...(although I have to admit it gets tougher as you age).
If I don't get off my ass and start working out in 2009, it will soon take a wide angle to photograph me!!. Lensmith...you had me years ago with your stories from South America.
This just confirms what we already knew...You're something special and always a welcomed part
of this forum.

The name comes from the line in the movie Love and a .45 "I was born on a green light daddio!" Plus I am into the environment.

I had another screenname when I first came into the business 9 years ago but I thought it was lame. When I was at WINK-TV we were discussing why a certain photog wasn't using a tripod, so as a joke I came up with whatsatripod, and it kind of stuck. I have another "call sign" from when I was in the Marine Corps. That is Guts. I got that from one my last name and two from being an lightweight 5'8 129 pound Corporal who would pretty much say anything to anybody especially if I knew I was right.

I was trying to come up with a name and I happened to glance at my shelf of Stephen King novels. My eye landed on the Gunslinger series and an alter-ego was born.
Besides, Lensmith was taken.

My full name is too long to fit on my very first license plate.
