Kathi Goertzen, died today, surrounded by her loving family. The long fight against the tumors that have ravaged her brain is over. She is at peace now, comfortable and surrounded by all that is good.

I'm certainly not from Seattle -- but man, what a sad story. It's obvious she made a huge contribution to the community and was well loved at the station. It's not often you have four anchors in tears on set.

I watched the KOMO 11pm newscast the night she died and it was a remarkable half hour of TV. Unfortunately that show isn't posted online but they did do a 1 hr long tribute:
