Anyone know when these will ship? I emailed B&H but got a long email response that never told me when they'd be in stock or ship. I thought they were suppose to ship November 14th but apparently that was wrong.

Saw them at my local Best Buy when I was there, today. They had the two "lower" versions, but not the "Black" edition.

Yup, BestBuy has had all the models in stock since the day GoPro released them. I did ask, and they receive a limit number of the black version. I know GoPro said the black version would be released later, but they came out on the same day.

Just have to find out what day BB receives stock.

If you really don't need the 2/4k recordering, the smaller size, but need the wi-fi, Costco had the Hero 2 with wi-fi back and remote for $200 bucks. Don't know if they have any left in stock.

On the GoPro boards, it seems many are having problems with the silver and black Hero 3's. Bricking and not recording.

I just want the Hero3 Silver Edition. B&H still shows them as being a new item available for pre-order which is why I asked. I'll check Best Buy in the morning.

I'll check Costco too. If I find that deal here I'll just buy a couple of Hero2's.

Happened to see it at Target the other day as well. Was unable to find the black edition, and the employee didn't know what that was (not that this means anything), so I'm not sure if that one's available or not. They also had a 2' top to bottom peghook section of GoPro accessories.

I thought that Wally and Target would only be selling the White version?

My local (in RI) REI has the Hero 3 Silver and all the extras save for the frame. I didn't ask them about the Black Edition, but my guess is that it will be available online from the company only. The frame has been backordered as is the black, delivery expected in early December.

the black edition is out there. I bought mine at best buy. you just have to go to their website and "check stores" and keep tabs on it. I saw one pop up about 20 minutes away and grabbed the last one in stock. they only had three shipped to them.

FYI: some of the Black models have allegedly been exhibiting freezing and unreliable recording, generally attributed to Protune and/or wifi issues. Probably a good idea to do some thorough test shooting before using yours on a critical gig.

Which, come to think of it, is true of pretty much any new piece of gear...
