I too saw this at NAB and didn't think it was real until I had the guy turn it on for me. I also think its funny that the article says that $200 is out of most consumers price range. Really? For decent video?

Define "decent" video. There are things I see on networks that I would have a hard time believing were shot by anything other than a monkey.

Speaking of iPads and shooting video...I was at my daughter's college graduation in San Francisco last November and was surprised to see people shooting video during the ceremony with their iPads while seated in the audience.

Reminded me of Olympic judges rating athletes by holding up big cards...except the audience behind these "photographers" were a little upset at having their own view blocked.

That's what I mean. Certainly not something of any quality that I'm going to want to shoot with and put on air. With the cost of what quality equipment is, I just thought it was funny that $200 was considered too much. We certainly aren't their market.

I saw the same thing last month at Arches National Park and at the Grand Canyon. Also saw someone doing a photoshoot at the local Harley dealership using one. I guess its really not that much different than using your iPhone to shot a quick video of something, just looks odd. I don't have an iPad but I'm guessing the quality is about the same as the phone.

Folks get nervous when I tell them my HMC150 is a cheap camera @ $3k. Then I tell them what a GOOD camera costs they they gasp. $200 is a toss away camera.
