Excellent! (and for some reason I keep thinking of kazoos and combs with paper over them)

Thanks Kevin. More to come when I have two cameras at home.
...and I hope to see more from the other b-rollers out there.

I don't think I know any applicable hacks, but as a way to say thanks and drive some traffic here, I've been trying to add stuff I searched for in the newbie section. Tips and lurking listening to you BTDT types is what brought me here, btw.

A thought occurs... is a hack similar to DIY stuff, or is that out of the B-Roll lane? I like to build stuff, and I'd be happy to share as I go along.

Shawn

I used to do something similar at fire/cop stories...plugged the scanner in to one channel to record/listen to radio traffic.

Great idea using it for sports (and I really could have used that when shooting soccer for the first time).

Default Shower Cap Lens Cover

I will concur that this is very effective lens protection from dust, mist and rain. I always have at least two in my waist pack. Years ago, I learned about that lens cover trick as an AC on a home makeover show. There was earth moving equipment constantly whipping up dust clouds and during downtime, we covered the mattes with those caps. They fit really well over most wide angle hoods and 16x9 Chrosziel boxes, without a brow/flag or side doors of course, unless they're folded, which is double protection. They also downgrade to smaller hoods because of the elastic band.
