Shooting in Austria- flicker?

I'm on my way to shoot s an F5, we will be shooting HD 1920 x 1080 at 29.97. I normally shoot with a 180 degree shutter. Some camera ops over there have been highly recommending that we instead set a shutter speed in increments of 25 (so either 50 or 100) to match up with the 50hz cycle of any Austrian lights that might get in the picture.
I just wanted to get people's thoughts and see if anyone has had any experience w this situation. Thank you very much

Are your lights (assuming you are taking lights) 220 or 110? Lamps too? That plays into it as well as practicals on location.

Yes you should change to "speed" and set 1/50th.. the 180 degree will give you 1/60th.. then you,ll get flicker due to 50 Htz system in Europe .. its ok to shoot 1/50th in 30p..
