Recording audio on Canon C100??

Hey folks, a friend of mine wants me to help him with sound on a C100. I have never used that camera and the "audio in" settings look a bit dicey. Can anyone help me with the best way to get clean audio into this camera? Such as the camera's input trim settings and line vs mic level in? Thanks!

If you're using a mixer, I would treat it just like a "big" camera.

Set the camera to LINE level and manual.

Send tone from the mixer and "zero out"(-20) as usual and control audio from the mixer.

If it's like the C300, there is a menu setting that can bite you that, that keeps CH's 1 & 2 separate or mixes them. You may wanna DL the manual and give it a quick once over to be sure.

Treat it like any big camera. Line/mic XLR inputs. Seperate Phantom power if needed. Seperate or blended monitoring. It's pretty simple although I agree the buttons are not in the best layout.

Just think thru it and you will be fine.

Thanks guys. I read that the camera's pre is pretty good, but the trim selections looked strange. Some devices expect +4 for line and some want 0. I definitely want separate L & R. Thanks again. I will look at the manual. Cheers!
