Anyone ever shot there? I'm going there at the end of March for seven days. I can't say what I'm working on but two of the days are blocked off for shooting scenic shots. Anyone ever shot in and around Helsinki that might have some advice on good shooting locations to get some great scenic shots of the area?

When you get to Helsinki find a store that sells postcards. All the best locations to shoot will be on the postcards and usually they will identify the exact location on the back. I do it all the time when I'm shooting beauty shots at an unfamiliar location and it always works.

Postcards, Genius.

We always checked Fodors and the such ahead of a trip. Now I guess I'd Google tourist and heritage sights to get a head start. Google Maps and then a list of local Pub fare nearby, and voila. They do some stuff with Good luck and enjoy the view. Daylight can be fleeting and stark.

The postcard idea is a great one...used it many times. These days, you can also Google "best skyline shot" or similar for the city you're visiting and find some great locations.

Just to update, it was a great trip and I got everything we needed. We had someone from the government escort us around on the day we were shooting scenic shots and he took us to all the great locations, getting us access to locations we otherwise couldn't have shot from.
