Saw a still photog with tee-shirt the other day with the following

"Relax, I'm a professional"

Heard at an actual multicamera news shoot:

Newbie Camera: "..it's not working"
TD:"Try the DFO switch."

(...muddled chuckles in backround of headset noise...)

N.C.: "I did, nothing happened."

...hysterical laughter from all headsets...

DFO= Dumb Fu*king Operator

From "Life or Something Like It" (If only all the talent were as hot as Angelina Jolie...):

"Do you have another cameraman who can make her look like a natural blonde?"

and

Pete the Camera guy: "Did you ever hear the saying, 'A picture holds a thousand words.'"
Lanie the 'talent': "That's only for people like you who don't know a thousand words."

My personal favorite I saw somewhere regarding primadonna reporters who never think they look good in stand ups..."I'm a photog not a plastic surgeon!"

"Television: A medium. So called because it's neither rare nor well done."
(I forget who said that).

"Anyone who isn't confused really doesn't understand the situation. "

Robert Cappa

LOL I think I must be working at CNN then. Personally I'm in the middle of a "Do it their way, you'll make more money." moment. So I think that one gets my vote.

Wait!!! Here's one I just coined in the studio....

"Good enough, if they want it to be perfect they'll have to use the one I did the first time."

The TV business is a cruel and shallow money trench-a long plastic hallway where pimps and thieves run free and good men die like dogs.

don't think it would work on a t-shirt though...

Actually, I think I have seen it on a T-shirt.

In the edit pool at CNN we had a motto that was coined by a producer I worked with. We were cutting a package with some awful video. I was bitching about it while trying to figure out what to cover this black hole with and he said:

"Better crap than black!"

It has served me well through the years. :)

Upon trying to breeze past the Matrie'De who was dressed in a tuxedo, at a snooty Coconut Grove restaurant.. "Do you have reservations sir?" He quizzed, barring my entrance. "Yes, {pause} but I came anyway." I replied." I was quickly whisked away, to the street, by the doorman......He was not amused.

My personal motto when asked if we should shoot or not..."If it walks, flys or draws flies, it is my job to shoot first and ask questions later."
