I'm curious, what type of quality do you receive from college students? Even those in larger markets, I bet you get tapes from college kids who want to/think they can jump straight into a big market.
A friend who just graduated was at an interview recently. He is more of the reporter/anchor type, not a photog, however the station was amazed that he did all his stuff himself and how decent it was.
My school is not well known, but up to this point we have one of, if not the best RTV program in Texas because its extremely hands-on which is how you learn in this industry. So pretty much anybody who puts forth effort and graduates from our school has a decent tape.
