Hi guys ,
I know hit to import files into Final Cut pro using a Mac. Book pro G5 ,the Sony xdcam transfer tool, G-Raid etc , etc.

What I would like to do is to learn the workflow for Avid Media Composer using the same Mac Book pro G5 along with the G - Raid and the Sony transfer tool.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm pretty certain that Avid MC has direct support for the native MXF files. Avid also has the advantage of support for proxy file editing with XDCAM HD so that you can do an offline edit, then conform to the full resolution material when you are finished with the timeline.

If you are wanting to use files from the XDCAM EX, you may have to go to an Intel Mac. I know that's true for FCP, but don't know for sure with Avid MC.
