Hi Guys,

Just wanted to find out if anyone has had an opportunity to try the new feature in After Effects CS5.5, that removes or corrects shaky video. IS it really that good? Is it worth the upgrade?

I haven't tried the new CS5 version, but since it's written for 64 bit, that is worth the upgrade if you use it alot. It will see more that 4 gigs of memory. Working with HD video, that's a big plus!

I think CS5.5 is worth the upgrade. The warp stabilizer is nice but the big improvement is the roto brush. It really simplifies masking. Tasks that took hours of tedious adjustments can now be done in minutes. After Effects and Premiere now work well with HD footage. (Especially footage shot in h264.) No more trans-coding.

If you're going to spend the money on AE, I highly recommend the entire Production Premium Package. Premiere Pro has some great new features since CS5, one of them being a realtime chroma key effect. If you're trying to work quickly with well light chroma footage it's the way to go.
