A Day in the Life of America’s Veterans 11.11.11 (A Documentary Film)
Film Producers Call for Original Music from Composers
Deadline: November 15, 2011

DENVER, Colo., October 12, 2011 – Producers of A Day in the Life of America’s Veterans 11.11.11, a full-length documentary film, announced today an open call for composers to write original music to accompany the film.
*
The producers are seeking music from amateur and professional composers who are willing to donate their work to this important film. Composers interested in submitting materials should send biographical and contact information along with two samples of original work.

Submission Guidelines:
Materials must be emailed to veterans111111@gmail.com. A complete submission includes two (2) sample recordings of original work in MP3 format and a PDF document containing the following information:
• Name
• Complete address and daytime phone number
• Email address
• Brief bio
• Website link (if applicable)
All submissions must be received by November 15, 2011.
Composers will be announced by December 31, 2011 and at that time given a rough cut of the film to write music to select sections. *Some composers may be asked to write opening and closing themes, while others might write transitional compositions to carry the film forward. Or one composer could be selected to score the entire film. *The final determination will be made by the film’s producers.

All submitted entries will be considered and evaluated by the executive producers.*

Internationally acclaimed news photographer and independent documentary filmmaker John C. P. Goheen will produce the documentary that chronicles the compelling stories of America’s veterans this coming Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2011.

Goheen said, “Everyone involved with this project should understand that the contributions made will serve to make a difference in not just one veteran’s life but countless others. This project has the potential to impact not only veterans, but family members, neighbors and citizens from around the world.*“

ABOUT THE FILM
Titled, “A Day in the Life of America’s Veterans 11.11.11,” it will be filmed on November 11th across the country and around the world by volunteer still and video photojournalists. Individual stories featured in the documentary will showcase men and women who devoted a portion of their lives to serve our country in times of war and peace. All the stories will be filmed in one day, on 11.11.11.

Goheen said he and his team of executive producers are exploring additional funding sources and in-kind services as well as opportunities for national broadcast and distribution.* A release date for the documentary is scheduled during Armed Forces Week, May 12-20, 2012.

ABOUT JOHN C. P. GOHEEN
Goheen has more than 300 awards to his credit and*was*the first*three-time winner of his profession’s top award, the National Press Photographers Association’s (NPPA)*Television News Photographer of the Year.*Goheen has produced numerous award-winning documentaries that have taken him around the world. He currently teaches video, production and*documentary filmmaking*at Loyola University Chicago's School of Communication. He also consults with television stations, universities, and the American Forces Radio and Television Network, and is a founding faculty member of the NPPA Advanced StoryTelling Workshop.
