The product looks interesting..... The best way is to scan the slide...Then use Photoshop to clean them up. I have in the past used a slide projector and a white board to shoot the slides...It works and lets you frame the slide as needed. I used a video camera, but a digital camera would work. You could rent a Elmo presentation camera. I think the term is correct. It's a camera stand used for documents(City Councils have them). They have a light box just for slides, and also have negative reverse switch. Turn on the light from below. Frame the slide.
Since you are recording the slide, it would be a video file, but you could do slow pushes.
I've been using the Epson Photo Scanner 4490. It does photos as well as slides and transparencies up to 120 film size. It comes with an excellent program that let you correct and view the images before scanning. I bought it about 2 years ago at Best Buy and if I recall it was priced in the mid $300.

Wal-Mart.
Seriously.
I had them do several hundred for me last year. Very reasonable.

The screen offers the best options of zooming, panning, etc.
But, I'll second walmart/riteaid/walgreens/etc. the same price you spend to buy the equipment, then the time to do everything; you are better off dropping it off and turned into a jpeg and then import into the time line.
God luck with the project.
