WOW, you got to see this video if you already havent yet. Lets play dodge the 50 pound blocks of ice!

ICE was falling off a 1,600 foot TV tower in Oklahoma During this past weeks ICE storm. And it was caught on Tape. What is awesom is the sound of the Ice falling like a missle in the 4th or 5th clip.

After the first one, I think I would have gotten a little further back. Some of those were pretty close...

I wonder if that was a shooter from the station or maybe just an engineer out there who happend to have a camcorder, he kept loosing the ice right before it hit the ground. It's not like a monkey playing golf, you KNOW where the ice is going. :D

That was my old station and I talked to one of my friends thats a reporter there and she said she was hit in the head with a smaller chunk that fell from the tower after getting back to the station from a live shot. She said when she walked in everyone kept saying they were sorry about her car getting hit and she kept telling them her car didn't get hit, she did. When she walked out the door to go home, she realized one of those large chunks landed and caved in the roof of her new car.

That's one heck of a hail storm! Almost looks like God himself is mad and is hurling down frozen spears.

God hates Oklahoma! ;)
He must also hate Kansas city because they had a similar incident there.

That's my story from KC, one of the better ones I've done lately. I had to pull some OT to make it a NATPAK... it was just a lame VOSOT before. Thanks for posting it, TxTech. I hope you guys in OKC survived the ice there. I'm sure the 4-Warn Storm Team was in rare form.

There were some other clips (it's the "related video") of ice damage on one of our reporters cars (huge dent in her roof, busted sunroof) and our EP's window getting busted out. Another chunk hit one of our photog's cars (not mine, thank goodness) Saturday, blew out the windshield.

Just curious, with such a hazard at the workplace as that, is the company helping with the insurance deductible on the cars or are you guys paying it yourselves. That goes for the OKC station as well.
