It seems to me that KDVR has a job opening up every 6 months. Are they expanding or people just don't stay around that long? I've seen some great work come out of that station and always wondered if it was a station to send a tape. I know its Denver and its competitive but does anyone have any info on the place? I have never heard that much about the station and just wanted to get a feel about the station and the people. I'm really not much for jumping around from station to station and want to make a move but I want it to be the right choice for me and my family.

Just curious............

If it's the FOX station they are for sale along with 9 other FOX O&O's.

KDVR is apart of the group that is up for sale. Fox is under a hiring freeze on all non-essential job openings until they decide otherwise.

I had a friend just quit KDVR, but didn't give any reasons why. He said he has enough freelance clients and makes more money. I don't think money is good anywhere in Denver. Real estate is a little high pay is low. It's Denver.... NPPA awarding winning city, why pay people to come when they higher off prestige.

SALE......That's a four letter word that I don't like.

Wow, I wonder how much KDVR will sell for? I wonder which companies will be fighting to get that gold mine? They just built a brand new facility not long ago. Anyone care to take a guess at who will buy? My short list would be:

Media General
Cox
Scripps
Belo

How bout I just hit that 163 million megamillions jackpot and buy it and you all can come work for me???

svp... Won't be Media General, they want to stay in the southeast...

Isn't that "LocalTV" company trying to buy the Fox group thats for sale?

Answered my own question:
News Corp. may be close to announcing an agreement for nine Fox TV stations it put up for sale in June. According to several reports, Oak Hill Capital Partners, the private equity firm that purchased the New York Times TV stations to create Local TV LLC, is the likely buyer.

Final bids for the Fox stations, in markets such as Cleveland, Denver and Milwaukee, were due last Friday.

The acquisition would give Local TV LLC its second duopoly in Memphis, Tenn. and increase its station portfolio to 18 TV stations.

I work at one of their stations and the transistion has not been that bad. They have cut OT down a bunch but in some cases that has been a good thing. I was sick of being on-call at 3am and being paged to go across the city for a rollover. I don't know about freelance photojournalists but they have let us keep a couple freelance producers.

I didn't know that was the same group that bought KFOR and the other NY Times stations. Isn't that the group of oil millionaires in TX that decided to get into the TV business???
